Saturday 26th April at Django's was a day dedicated to recording live, some of the acts that have regularly entertained our customers over the past year. Pete Holyman of Peru Recording Studio travelled down from the midlands to get the best from each of the performers has he did so well  last year in the recording of Django's first live CD "ECHOES OF FRANCE" First up were regular Saturday afternoon act ACCORDS GITAN with some favourite Django Reinhardt numbers. At about midday CHRIS SPARKES, a respected local poet recited works of his own and well chosen works from past famous British poets. This was all very well received. Almost immediately EL MONDO COMBO were on playing their mix of blues, gypsy swing and bluegrass. SWING 39B from Southampton dropped in and recorded a few Django Reinhardt songs and later continued to entertain passers by in Bakery lane with an improptu busking session and invited Neil Mercer to join them. Finally FRANCIS MACNAMARA played viola and violin to his usual standard of excellence and sang the beautiful old Irish ballad THE SINGING BIRD (watch out for this on the new CD). Later Neil Mercer joined him for the finale of the day's recording. A great day. We are all looking forward to next year's bash already!
